70MHz UKAC 2022 - 15/12/22 SESSION & WHOLE YEAR RESULTS

In reviewing the results of the 2022 70MHz UKAC series, it's worth starting with some overall statistics. The number of clubs taking part was 63, 37 in the General Club section and 26 in the Local Club Section. This was one (1%) down on the figure for 2021. The total number of different callsigns submitting entries was stations entering was 260 - down on 2021 by 22%.. The number of monthly entries showed a general downward trend across the year: The highest and lowest number of entries were 125 (in January) and 74 (in December) with an average of 103 - 25% down on 2021.

The total number of DXCC entities worked across the series was 17 (9A, DL, EI, G, GD, GI, GJ, GM, GU, GW - all UK&CD call areas - LA, OH, ON, OZ, PA, S5 and SP) from 53 big squares. The best DX took place in the June session between 2E0VCC/P (IO70) and OH6DX (KP32) at 2276km.

Looking at club results, in the General Club section the leading entrant was Northern Fells CG, who were also 2021 winners. In second place was Wirral & DARC, up one place from 2021. In the Local Club section, Hereford ARS took first place for the fourth consecutive year. In second place was Parallel Lines CG who move up one place from 2021.

Moving on to individual results, the leading entrant in the Open section was G4FZN/P (up from fourth in 2021), followed by G4ASR in second place for the second year running. In the Restricted section, the leading place was taken by G4CLA for the seventh consecutive year, followed by GD0AMD/P moving up from third place in 2021). In the Low Power section, first place was taken by GW1YBB/P, last year's winner, followed by G0EAK/P who moved up four places.

The station providing the greatest number of entrants with their best DX was GI4SNA.
